THE VINTAGE DRIVING TOUR

Driving Is Freedom

Welcome to the private participant itinerary for the seventh annual Tejas Turismo: Vintage Driving Tour! This activity filled, three-day weekend event, is presented by DriverSource, Pacto Helmets, Blue Chip Car, Collision Plus Inc, Hagerty, Allied Wealth, Avenida Houston, Dry Ice Detailing, Victory Motor Co., InsertBid, and The Vault.

Get ready for an unforgettable experience! Tejas Turismo is known for creating lifelong friendships through the joy of enjoying vintage Icons. Year after year, the event surpasses its registration numbers with many visitors from all over the world.

IMPORTANT: If you haven't done so, please schedule your safety inspection at no cost with DriverSource by calling (281) 497-1000 and asking for Steve Ott. This is important and we encourage everyone to get it done as soon as possible. You may also get your safety inspection done at the automotive shop of your choice.

Reminders for the weekend

1) Be safe during the entirety of the weekend!

2) Driver's meeting is mandatory!

3) Drivers and their passenger must have badge to gain entry into the weekend activities!

4) Period correct attire is encouraged for a fun experience.

5) Make sure you have a full tank of gas before the start of the routes!

6) Have fun!

DECEMBER 5TH

FRIDAY

8:00am Arrive at Avenida Houston Tejas Turismo's offical starting line!
Address: 1001 Avenida de las Americas, Houston, TX 77010.

Official Welcome Kits and Decals will be given during this activity. For those unable to make it, your welcome kit will be ready for you in Austin on Friday or at the Saturday morning Driver's Meeting​.

10:00am Scenic Drive to Hotel Viata begins with a police escort to Buc-ee's.

12:00pm Midway, we will stop for lunch at Round Top, Texas. Look out for team members, they will help you park in the dedicated area in the town square! Please note: Participants are responsible for their own lunch tabs.

4:00pm Arrive at Hotel Viata. There is a designated parking area for our group on the rooftop floor of the parking garage. A member of our team will guide you once you’ve arrived.

6:00 - 8:00pm Parking Lot Hangout (Optional) Catch up with familiar faces and meet new friends with an evening hangout in the hotel parking garage! The Tejas Turismo Team Members and Sponsors will be at the Hotel Viata parking garage to mingle and connect. Dinner options include dining at the hotel or any of the incredible restaurants nearby.​

*If you are trailering your vehicle to the event, please reach out to us in advance to coordinate. We have dedicated parking for trailers and haulers.*

** IMPORTANT ITEMS: 1) MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A FULL TANK OF GAS FRIDAY EVENING. 2) THE MANDATORY DRIVER'S MEETING IS SATURDAY AT 7:15AM IN A HOTEL VIATA MEETING ROOM (LOOK FOR THE TEJAS TURISMO LOGO) **

DECEMBER 6TH

SATURDAY

7:00am Mandatory Driver's Meeting
The Driver's Meeting will take place at one of Hotel Viata's meeting rooms (look for the Tejas Turismo logo).

IMPORTANT: Everyone must be there on time and have a full tank of gas for Saturday's drive.​

7:30am Driver's Meeting Concludes
Meet on the rooftop floor of the parking garage.

7:50am All participants begin the drive with police escorts to the start of the route. Tejas Turismo Driving Tour Officially Starts!

12:30 - 2:30pm Lunch At Mason, Texas!
1/2 way rest and lunch as a group.

This year, the entire town of Mason, Texas will welcome Tejas Turismo as their holiday activity and will invite the entire community to see the cars!

Participant cars will be on display for participants and the community to admire all the beautiful icons while we enjoy lunch in the amazing town of Mason, Texas!

2:30pm Second part of Tejas Turismo begins.

5:00pm Arrive back at Hotel Viata! The driving tour has been completed!

​7:00pm Tequila Tasting (Optional)
Our hosts at Hotel Viata will provide a wine and tequila tasting! Experience the art of tasting as they present a curated selection down in the Hotel Viata lobby! Evening is open for everyone to enjoy the beautiful venues, restaurants, and nightlife in Austin!​

DECEMBER 7TH

SUNDAY

TEJAS TURISMO AWARDS CEREMONY

8:00am Arrive at Treaty Oak Distilling
Upon arrival, follow team members' guidelines as they help you park in the designated areas.

Before activities begin, please treat yourself to coffee and food available at the venue!

Enjoy the display of participant cars and take part in this year’s new activity!

This year, we’re turning up the Texas spirit even more with something truly unforgettable, ARMADILLO RACING!

Join the fun and take the reins as an armadillo “jockey” and cheer your racer to the finish line!

12:00pm Awards Ceremony & Conclusion of Tejas Turismo Revival

Awards span a range of unique items including a Pacto 1 of 1 Helmet, Original Painting, Original Art, and more.

Awards will be presented based on lively and fun themes, celebrating our love for vintage and style rather than competition. Categories include “Best Dressed (Period Correct),” “Best Vintage Icon,” and more, all in the spirit of camaraderie and appreciation, as this event is NOT a race.

You must be present if you win an award.

Tejas Turismo Chapter VII concludes, leaving behind memories of exciting drives, new friendships, and shared passion.

*Dressing period correct is encouraged during this event as its a fun activity for all to enjoy and talk about fun memories that were created throughout the weekend.*
